Pastor Wilson is
asking the congregation to say this daily confession:
Catch the Vision Confession
Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus, we come into Your presence thanking
You for Word of Faith-Grand Rapids. You have called us as ambassadors in
Western Michigan and around the world. We lift up our voices in one accord,
recognizing that You are Lord and everything is created by and for You. As
we go forth building Your house to Your glory, we lift this very project up
before You. We praise and thank you that we walk in Your counsel, insight
and provision in this process.
Lord we thank You that every person involved with this building project
walks in supernatural understanding and discernment throughout the planning
and execution stages. Every leader and decision maker will be quick to
acknowledge and obey Your voice in every course of action.
We thank You Father God for supplying every need of this project according
to Your riches in glory. We sow financial seed consistently into Word of
Faith, and believe we receive Your multiplication our seed sown. Father we
are faithful stewards and we thank You for the honor of building Your house.
We trust that we will bring glory and honor to You through it.
This is our year of overflow! We believe the time has come for the Vision to
be fulfilled. If it seems slow we will not doubt, nor despair for we believe
it will surely come to pass. It will not be overdue a single day! Thank You
Lord for ordering our steps and increasing our capacity to be a blessing. We
proclaim these things in the name of Jesus. Lord this is Your doing; and it
truly is marvelous in our eyes! |

History
Word of Faith-Grand Rapids (WOFGR)
was established in December, 1996 as a result of God's faithfulness to answer
the prayers of men and women living in the Grand Rapids area. Reverend Thomas
Wilson along with his wife Minister Adriane Wilson, both of whom served at the
Word of Faith International Center and as campus ministers for United Students
for Christ at Oakland University, have led and cared for the growing
congregation since its inception. Originally occupying only two suites in
Trinity Plaza, our ministry has grown and additional suites were added in
mid-2000 to house much needed administrative offices as well as provide the
extra space necessary for a growing children's and youth ministry.
Our response to ever-increasing
ministry opportunities in the community we serve has resulted in creative
programs:
- College Campus Ministry was
started in 1997
- Layman's Bible School met
for the first time in September, 2001 and has grown to an enrollment of 50
this past fall.
- Prison Ministry Training in
January 2004. Fifty-seven people participated.
- "College Launch" a unique
program to equip parents and teens to prepare an action plan for college
premiered in February, 2004.
- On-site High School Ministry
(February 27, 2004). WOFGR was invited to facilitate the chapel services
for Grand Rapids Christian High for over 1200 youth.
- Adoption and ongoing support
of the Western African ministry
Word of Faith is a multi-cultural,
non-denominational church that continues to grow and expand its ministry. Today,
over 350 worship in the current facilities. The opportunity for increased
ministry directs the need for our expansion of facilities.

|
|
Purpose
As a non-denominational
church we teach the uncompromised Word of God in a practical way
that ministers to each individual. Meeting the needs of the
entire family is the engine that drives our ministry here at Word of
Faith. Impacting lives, strengthening families, and changing
communities makes for an environment where people flourish and grow
successfully.
We accomplish our
vision by: |
 |
- Teaching the Word
of
God, revealing the righteousness that is of faith in Christ Jesus,
- Doing the Work, spreading the gospel to every creature through
soul winning, exhibiting Godly character, and ministering to those in
need.
-
Touching the World, participating in Worldwide Evangelism and
supporting ministries around the world, especially African and Hispanic
nations.

Opportunity
Our current facilities have served
in the church's founding. However, their adequacy to support our current
ministry activities limit our capacity to accomplish God's full plan. Our
challenge is to have the space to minister to the ever-growing needs of
the congregation and expand outreach into the community and at the same time to
create more and better opportunities for our loving congregation to serve in a
growing ministry.
We have purchased a little
over 6
acres of land on Eastern Avenue. A location we believe is perfect to
pursue the next level of our God-given vision. Projected to open in 2005,
our plan is to renovate two of the three existing buildings on the property.
The facility will feature a worship area for 600 people and will enable us to
extend our current ministry and expand outreach to teens, children, and families
throughout the community as well as western Michigan.
The home for Word of Faith opens
the door to fulfill our 10 Point Master Plan.
We are believing God of our "Catch
the Vision" campaign to generate over $3,000,000. The preliminary plan to
finance the expansion is to acquire a construction loan. We have now completed the first phase of our campaign during 2003. The
second
phase of "Catch the Vision" will be conducted during spring of 2004 and
commitments completed in varying stages throughout 2004, 2005, 2006 and the
first half of 2007. Realization of God's plan will come to fruition as we
prayerfully take our faith commitment to the next level accomplishing the
purpose and vision opportunities that are now before us.
