Perfect Intercession

Perfect Intercession

Romans 8:26-28 KJV [26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. [28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

When we pray in other tongues, Holy Spirit intercedes for us. He takes our place before the throne of God; He stands in the gap for us. There is a glaring weakness in our prayer, we don’t know. We don’t know what we don’t know. Holy Spirit knows God’s plan and purpose for our lives, as well as how our lives fit into the grand scheme of God throughout human history and He makes intercession about things we could never even articulate. Therefore Holy Spirit makes intercession for us “with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Brother Kenneth E. Hagin said that the literal Greek text conveyed the meaning “groanings which cannot be uttered in articulate speech.” In other words we do not understand the depths of the plan nor have the words to express what needs to be prayed. There are things that will only be understood and accurately expressed in other tongues. Then…we understand that God knows our hearts and certainly He knows the mind of the Spirit who makes Perfect Intercession for us according to the will of God; intercession that causes all things to work together for our good (according to His purpose). Through Holy Spirit God gets His will in the earth. He has given us One to live on the inside of us, Holy Spirit, to pray the perfect prayer of intercession.
